“ I’ve never really been one for celebrations.
But, I do appreciate the food. ”
Hearing a Seventh Year’s voice surprises Valeria, especially one that just so happens to speak of the very thing she is writing about: the Halloween party. She slams her diary shut with a quick flip of the hand and looks up at a pair of handsome blue eyes. Assertively, she interrogates him.
“Were you just… reading my diary?”
The blonde takes up his usual impassive expression, tinged only in the slightest with a downwards turn of his lips at her accusation. Truthfully, he hadn’t noticed; he’d seen her working on what he assumed was something important but hadn’t bothered to look any closer than the quill in her slender hand “No.” he says, quick and to the point “It is Halloween. There was even a public announcement to remind us of this fact.”
“Why?” he questions a moment later “Is there something I should worry about in there?” he never saw the appeal, why bother to write your thoughts down and then keep them all in one place?
“Well, excuse me for trying to protect the privacy of my thoughts,” Valeria pungently states, her blue eyes instinctively shooting him a cool glare.
Her hostility lowers as she re-evaluates what he had said. "But… I guess you do have a point. About the announcement.“ Tonight, the girl is not in the mood for petty quarrels. Instead, she does something that would have been considered out of character otherwise, if not for her lengthy rationalizing about trying something new.
"I’m Valeria,” she says, tentatively. “And you are?”
