Odd Ones Out: Part 4
Lysander adjusted his bag on his shoulder and followed her.
“Why is it strange?” he asked, doing his best to keep up with her. “I don’t really know much about the house stereotypes since I haven’t been here long.”
Unlike some, he completely understood why she wouldn’t want to disclose everything about herself. But so far, he really only knew so little.”
“I’m Lysander, by the way. It’s nice to meet you.”
Without turning around, head looking forward and feet travelling alongside her fairly placidly paying no consideration to her slight nerves, Valeria responds, quite bluntly.
“Lysander Rathborne. Yeah, I know who you are.”
While fiddling with the hem of her sweater, Valeria breaks the small, awkward gap of silence when she kicks at a stone that had somehow found its way inside the castle. It rolls along down the empty hall.
“And… I don’t know, I guess it just kind of stuck ever since the Trio was here. You know, with Professor Snape seemingly hating on Gryffindors. But know that I’m not one to judge people based on their Houses,” she matter-of-factly states, glancing back at Lysander.
