Odd Ones Out: Part 9

lysander-rathborne:

Lysander watched curiously as she wiped her knee with the small cloth. Even small little tricks and spells like that fascinated him. He never wanted to take magic for granted.

“That’s actually really clever.” he mused. He knew Valeria was a smart Witch. He could tell just by looking at her, and now it was confirmed. He would never think to do something like that. But then again, he was pretty hopeless at taking care of himself in the first place.
Lysander straightens up when she stands and shoves his hands in his pockets.
“So, what class do you have now?” he asked curiously.

It felt nice to know that someone appreciates and acknowledges her skills, no matter how small the situation may be. Valeria’s parents would have never praised her for such a seemingly insignificant act of cleverness.

“Maybe,” she casually shrugs. “Just thinking ahead, that’s all.” Swinging her bag over her shoulder, she looks up at Lysander with raised brows in response to his question. Really?

“It’s Saturday, isn’t it? So, no class,” Valeria dryly states. “But, I do have to hurry elsewhere.”

Tonight is to be a full moon. The witch had made plans with her brother to rendezvous at the Shrieking Shack that evening, and in preparation, she must pay a visit to Tomes and Scrolls at Hogsmeade. For what purpose, she will not reveal.

“I’d best be off, then.”
