The First Ride: Part 6

Werewolves are nothing new to Valeria. Though unbeknownst to other wizarding families, the Géroux bloodline has produced werewolves in the past, and in the very recent present - Valeria herself has also been a victim of a wolfish experience. She shakes that thought out of her head; there are more important things than dwelling on her past.

Wolfsbane potion is intended to keep the transformed werewolf sane, preserving their human conscience and therefore, helping them to avoid attacking those around. Seeing how Nikki had drained the entirety of her bottle, Valeria quietly steps towards the black mass of fur, careful not to frighten her. Crouching, becoming head-level with Nikki, Valeria takes the werewolf - still warm - into her arms. Holding her close, she whispers, “Don’t worry, Nikki. I won’t tell a soul. Your secret’s safe.”

This was a side of her that her new acquaintances - now very much friends - had not seen back in the compartment. The girl with the big cerulean eyes, seemingly cold and inferior upon the first meeting, in fact has a soft spot for werewolves. And after today, as she notices, for her new friends as well.

A sudden realization comes to Valeria’s mind: surely, they must be close to Hogwarts, possibly even arriving in a matter of minutes. With Nikki still in werewolf form and dawn still hours away, how will she be able to set foot onto Hogwarts grounds?
