The Essentials: Saje's 'Pocket Farmacy' & Vitruvi's 'Sleep'
There are some items I always keep with me in my purse, backpack, or whichever bag I decide to use for the day: lip balm, mints, hand sanitizer, an extra pair of contacts... and essential oils. What do I do when I come home from a long day? Diffuse essential oils. And what do I have standing on my bedside table, waiting for me to use before I sleep? You guessed it, more essential oils. Essentially, essential oils are essential to my lifestyle (how's that for cramming as many uses of 'essential' as I can into one sentence?). Our culture is seeing a rise in natural, holistic approaches to healthcare, and a surge in all things healthy and vegan, so naturally (pun intended), essential oils have started to become more popular. No, they cannot completely replace medicine in large cases such as cancer treatment, however, they are a great quick remedy for something small, like a headache, heartburn, or even muscle tension. Not to mention they also help people calm.
Currently, my favourite essential oil rollerballs include Saje's Pocket Farmacy (which I always have handy) and Vitruvi's Sleep.

Although Saje Natural Wellness has been around for 25 years, the Canadian business is a relatively new player in the consumer market, gaining much popularity within the last few years as they expanded to malls around the country. Recently, they've opened a couple new stores in the States. The company uses 100% all-natural, plant-based ingredients that result in products that are free of parabens, glycols, synthetics, and other chemicals. The company was actually founded on the idea of using natural remedies in replacement of medication to heal the body, and one of their most popular products that include these remedies is the Pocket Farmacy. It includes five 6ml rollerballs of essential oil blends targeted to different areas of remedy, such as headaches and digestion. These rollerballs come in a nice pouch, along with a firmly printed manual of how to use each remedy, where to apply the oils, as well as other tips and tricks.

My personal favourites/the ones I use the most often are Peppermint Halo and Eater's Digest - they REALLY work! I am quite prone to headaches and heartburn/other stomach problems (I have a very sensitive tummy...), and I used to use over-the-counter and prescribed medication to ease the pain and discomfort. Since I discovered Pocket Farmacy a few years ago, I haven't felt the need to take any medication for headaches, and my use of antacid medications has decreased - I only take them as a last resort, if my stomach is INSANELY bloated. But other than that, this kit has been my lifesaver for numerous occasions.
Sleep Aromatherapy Oil (Vitruvi)
This is hands down my favourite rollerball of all the ones I own. It is inspired by the scent of warm cashmere, which by the sounds of it already makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. It is a blend of roman chamomile, french lavender, sandalwood, vetiver, frankincense, and ylang ylang, many of which promote relaxation and thus, aid with sleep.
All of Vitruvi's roll-ons are blended in 100% pure Italian sweet almond, apricot seed oil, and castor oil. Like Saje, the products are all free of parabens, sulfates, and synthetics.
The company was co-founded by a pair of siblings - Sara and Sean Panton - with a passion for natural beauty products, and for entrepreneurship, respectively. Together, they strive to share with their customers the diverse properties and creative uses of essential oils.
